Comments: This less well-known tree (Vis. 1) starts the
season with silvery, gray-green new growth. The twigs are
green when young but the exfoliating bark becomes
bronze-colored with age. The white flowers (Vis. 2) are
borne in racemes in mid-summer but are not particularly
ornamental.
