Linum perenne--Perennial Flax

Comments: L. perenne (Vis. 2) may be the most readily
available of the perennial flaxes. It (Vis. 1) flowers
continuously from late spring through the summer. The plant
can be grown in partial shade and should be pruned back
after it flowers. Best growth occurs in full sun and in a
well-drained soil.

Propagation: Propagation is by seed or division. The seed
germinates in 3 to 4 weeks at temperatures between 65 and
75 degrees. Flowering will not occur until the second
season. The plants may be divided in the spring or fall.

Cultivars:
'Sapphire' ('Saphir') - Flowers are sky blue.
'White Diamond' - Compact plants produce white flowers.
