Lamium maculatum--Spotted Deadnettle

Flowers: Pink, purple, white

Comments: Spotted Dead Nettle is a spreading, sprawling
plant which grows in most types of soils. The plant can
be used in the shade and on good sites can become
invasive. The center of the leaves has a white or cream
colored blotch. The purplish flowers are borne from May
through summer.

Propagation: Propagation is by division in autumn or by
cuttings taken in summer. Seed may also be used.

Cultivars:
'Beacon Silver' - Silvery white leaves (Vis. 4) have a
green margin. The flowers are lavender-pink.
'Beedham's White' - Yellow to yellowish-green foliage
is combined with white flowers.
'Chequers' - Deep pink flowers are combined with white
and green foliage.
'Frida' - White flowers (Vis. 3), foliage with white
variegation.
'Pink Pewter' - Silvery white leaves that have green
margins, the flowers are clear pink.
'Shell Pink' - Green and white foliage (Vis. 1) is
combined with light pink flowers (Vis. 5).
'White Nancy' - White leaves have green margins, the
flowers are also white (Vis. 2).
