Kolkwitzia amabilis--Beautybush

Hardiness Zones: 4 to 8
Height: 10 ft Spread: 10 ft Form: rounded
Type: deciduous shrub
Annual Growth Rate: more than 18 inches
Flowers: Pink

Comments: Beautybush grows in any well-drained soil but
needs plenty of room. Cut off the branch tips of young
plants to promote increased density. The shrub tolerates
pruning, and it may be used in hedges, although much of
the flowering effect and arching (Vis. 1) branching habit is
lost. Flowering is best in the sun, but the plant tolerates
some shade. The pink flowers (Vis. 2) are produced in late
spring.

Cultivars:
'Pink Cloud' - A selection that has clear pink flowers.
