Juniperus squamata--Singleseed Juniper

Type: narrow-leaved evergreen tree
Annual Growth Rate: less than 12 inches

Comments: Singleseed Juniper is usually present in
landscapes in the form of one of its cultivars. Like most
junipers it tolerates dry soils.

Cultivars:
'Blue Alps' - Upright, 6-foot plants have bluish foliage.
'Blue Carpet' - A low, spreading plant with silver-
blue foliage. One foot tall and more than 4 feet
wide.
'Blue Star' - A mounding cultivar with steel-blue
foliage. The plant will be 2 feet tall and 4 feet
wide (Vis. 1).
'Chinese Silver' - The bluish-green foliage has prominent
white stomata (Vis. 3).
'Holger' - A broad, spreading plant that will have a
height and width of 6 feet. The foliage (Vis. 2) is
bluish.
'Meyeri' - The needles are blue with white undersides.
The plant will have a height and width of about 5
feet.
