Juniperus conferta--Shore Juniper

Hardiness Zones: 6 to 9
Height: 2 ft Spread: 8 ft Form: spreading
Type: narrow-leaved evergreen shrub
Annual Growth Rate: less than 12 inches

Comments: Shore Juniper is valued for its low, spreading
growth habit. This slow growing shrub will be 18 inches
or less in height and can spread to 8 feet. The main
ornamental value of the shrub is its bluish foliage. The
plant tolerates poor soils but will suffer some winter
injury in colder climates. The more prostrate cultivars
of Shore Juniper are often used as ground covers.

Cultivars:
'Blue Pacific' - A low, 1-foot tall plant with blue-
green foliage. Often used as a ground cover.
'Emerald Sea' - A wide-spreading cultivar that will be
only 8 inches tall but spread 8 feet. The foliage is
emerald green and the plant is salt tolerant.
'Irozam' (Iron Age TM) - A plant 1 foot tall will spread
6 feet. A hardy plant with good salt tolerance.
'Silver Mist' - A salt tolerant cultivar. White bands
give the plant a bicolor appearance.
'Variegata' - Bluish-green foliage has yellow markings.
