Ilex--Holly
Type: house plant
Comments: Young Holly plants are sold as potted plants
during the Christmas season. They lose leaves rapidly due
to the low humidity found in most homes. The ilex are
true holly plants and may be planted outside in spring.
Some of the hollies will not survive Michigan winters. A
holly-like plant called Osmanthus is sold during the
Christmas season and can be grown as a house plant. To
keep hollies alive until spring, give them cool
temperatures and bright light.
