Comments: The primary ornamental trait of this grass is
its blue foliage (Vis. 2). Best growth occurs in full sun
but a wide variety of neutral to alkaline soils are
suitable. The panicles (Vis. 1) are white to beige and are
borne on tall stems. Plants growing in excessive shade make
weak growth and have an open habit.
Propagation: Propagate by division or seed.
Cultivars:
'Saphirsprudel' ('Saphire Fountain') - Bluish foliage,
wind resistant.
'Sapphire' - Bluish foliage.
