Campanula portenschlagiana--Dalmatian Bellflower

Type: herbaceous perennial
Flowers: Purple (Vis. 1).

Comments: Dalmatian Bellflower can be used in rock gardens
or other places where a small plant is desired. The plant
will flower all summer long from small clumps of foliage.

Propagation: Division may be done in spring or fall.
Seed may be planted outdoors in late spring or early
summer with flowering occurring the following year. The
seed is fine and may be hard to handle. Seed planted
indoors germinates in 2 to 3 weeks.

Cultivars:
'Birch Hybrid' - Purplish-blue flowers. A hybrid between
C. portenschlagiana and C. porscharskyana.
'Resholdt's Variety' - The flowers are darker than the
species.
