Aquilegia canadensis--Wild Columbine

Hardiness Zone: 3 to 9
Height: 3 ft Spacing: 15 in
Type: herbaceous perennial
Flowers: Red and yellow

Comments: Wild Columbine is native to North America. The
red and yellow flowers are attractive to hummingbirds. Be
sure to remove the flower stalks as the flowers fade to
prevent seed formation. The self-seeded volunteer plants
can become a significant weed problem. In the wild, the
plant grows on dry sites as well as moist so should adapt
to a range of conditions. Expect to see powdery mildew on
the foliage.

Propagation: Seed or division.
