Anemone blanda--Greek Anemone

Height: 6 in Spacing: 3 in
Type: hardy bulb
Flowers: Pink, white, blue (Vis. 2).

Comments: Greek Anemone prefers a well-drained soil. In
wet, poorly drained soil the tubers rot or winter kill. A
sunny location is best although the plants tolerate
partial shade. These small, (Vis. 1) early blooming plants
are useful as a bedding plant. The tubers are planted 3 to
4 inches deep during the fall. Soak them in water overnight
before planting. Tubers planted too deep grow poorly.

Propagation: Division is done after the foliage matures.
Dig and wash the tubers before they harden. Store the
tubers in dry sand or peat until replanted.

Cultivars:
Blue Shades - Flowers in various shades of blue.
'White Splendor' - White flower have yellow centers.
