Height: 36 in Spacing: 24 in Type: annual Flowers: Pink, red, white
Comments: Lavatera produces large flowers from May to July. The blooming period is longest when seed formation is prevented. The plant tolerates most soil types as long as they are not too wet or cold. The preferred light exposure is full sun. Lavatera may not do well during hot weather.
Propagation: The seed can be sown directly into the garden with germination coming in 15 to 20 days at 70 degrees. Seed may also be started early indoors. Use peat pots or similar containers to help overcome transplanting difficulties.
