Non-Stick Teflon Characteristics
Teflon is a plastic fluorocarbon in resin applied
to surfaces (usually metal) under very high heat to form
a non-stick coating. It was developed by DuPont and has
been revised and improved in durability, and marketed
under several brand names. In the early 1980's it evolved
into "Silverstone". It is used to coat the inside of
cooking utensils and also coat the liners of some ovens.
