Our Mission


MSU Extension is a county based educational arm of Michigan State University, the United States Department of Agriculture and Grand Traverse County.  Our mission is to “help people improve their lives through an educational process that applies knowledge to critical issues, needs and opportunities.”  MSU Extension offers educational programming in three main areas:  Agriculture and Natural Resources; Children, Youth and Families;  and Community and Economic Development.

Hours


Office hours are 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.  The office does not close for lunch.
As a county office, we are closed on the following holidays:  New Years Day; President's Day (observed the third Monday in February); Good Friday; Memorial Day;  Independence Day; Labor Day; Veterans Day (November 11); Thanksgiving Day and the Friday after Thanksgiving; Christmas Eve and Christmas Day.

Educational programs and workshops are offered in day, evening and weekend formats.
