Michigan Action For Healthy Kids
Click here for an Agenda and Registration to the Michigan Action for Healthy Kids Statewide Coalition Meeting to be held December 14, 2006, in East Lansing. Local wellness policies are hot off the presses, but what are community health champions, parents, students and school staff to do with it now? Learn from Nancy Blair, a national speaker, who will share her insights on how to lead school change and deliver powerhouse presentations that create action. This conference will also feature Barb Flis, founder of Parent Action for Healthy Kids, who will present on how to get parents involved in the fight for health. We will also hear from students regarding what they are doing and can do to promote student health; and a Michigan Department of Education Physical Activity Consultant will present on how to get students more physically active in the classroom. Registration is required. Complimentary morning refreshments and lunch will be provided.
