Apples and Carrots
Family Nutrition Program, Grand Traverse/Leelanau

2 cups sliced fresh carrots
1/4 cup cooking liquid or 1 tablespoon margarine
1 cooking apple, cored, peeled, and sliced
1 tablespoon brown sugar or honey
1/4 teaspoon salt
1/2 teaspoon cinnamon

1. Cook carrots until almost tender; drain, reserving liquid.
2. In a large frying pan, melt margarine. Add remaining ingredients.
3. Cover. Cook over low heat until apple is tender; stir occasionally.
