- Chimney Fires/Safety Tips - CPSC (Consumer Product Safety Commission) research indicates that most wood heating fires involve the chimney and not the appliance itself.
- CPSC and NKHA Stress Kerosene Heater Safety - Lots of tips on using these things, however, the MI Dept. of Public Health did indicate (in past years) that these types of heating units (any unvented, fuel-powered, portable space heater) could be a health risk for the very young infants, pregnant women, those with respiratory disorders, and the elderly.
