Soybean rust is a serious disease that has caused crop losses in other areas of the world. It is caused by two types of fungi and is spread by windborne spores. This site provides much more information on soybean rust. The disease has only been confirmed in Louisiana, Mississippi and Florida so far.

Sudden Oak Death
The sites listed here provide a great deal of information on Sudden Oak Death; what it is, where it is and more. Sudden Oak Death can rapidly kill different species of Oak.

Emerald Ash Borer
The following is a set of resources for finding further information on the Emerald Ash Borer. These insects are an extreme threat to Ash trees.
- MSU Center for Integrated Plant Science (CIPS) - A pest alert containing information on identification, biology, distribution, andy symptoms of the Emerald Ash Borer.
- Michigan Department of Agriculture (MDA) - An extensive resource on the Emerald Ash Borer containing general information, maps, publications, photo galleries, and press releases.
- United States Department of Agriculture Forest Service - A thorough site containing information on identification, infestation, quarantines, control and management, as well as Ash tree resources.
West Nile Virus
The following is a set of resources for finding further information on the West Nile Virus. West Nile is commonly spread by mosquitos.
- Emerging Disease Issues - West Nile Virus - A site produced cooperatively by departments of the state governement, including the Michigan Department of Agriculture, that covers general information, health issues, mosquitos, and more.
- US Center for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) - A site containing information on what everyone should know concerning West Nile, information on more specific topics, and resources for further knowledge.
