Starting the Year Off Right: Tips and Tools for 4-H Volunteers

The Power of 4-H!This feature is designed especially for volunteer leaders who are looking for ideas to help get their 4-H group off to a great start!  You’ll find ideas for get-acquainted activities that will help build a sense of belonging among all your members, planning tips for mapping out activities for the coming year while you help build youth leadership skills, as well as meeting planning tips that can help make your job as the administrative or project leader easier.  Throughout all of these ideas, you will find the strong theme of community service — “The Power is in YOUth”. Visit your local Extension Office soon to check out some of the resource materials available to 4-H clubs and groups. There are lots of printed and video materials available to make your meetings more interesting and to help build leadership skills in the young people you work with.
