4-H Alumni

Stay Connected to 4-H!

Michigan 4-H Youth Development wants its 4-H alumni to stay connected to 4-H and all the opportunities it offers to those aged 20 and up.

Volunteer!

The most obvious way to stay connected is to stay with 4-H as a volunteer in your home community or the community you move to for college or for your work. Visit the county MSU Extension office where you live to discover how you can use your knowledge and experiences in 4-H and your life's work to benefit other young people.

Do an internship!

If you are a college student at MSU or elsewhere in the state, check out the list of internship opportunities you can apply for at home, where you are in school or at MSU if you are now or will be a Michigan State University student. Many of the internship opportunities offered through Michigan State University Extension are through 4-H, but many others are offered by family and food, nutrition and health programs of MSU Extension's Children, Youth and Family Programs.

Join or Start a Collegiate 4-H Group!

Check out the national 4-H collegiate 4-H Web site to learn about existing collegiate 4-H groups or find out how you can start one at the college you are attending.

Support 4-H Youth Development!

If you feel your 4-H experience helped you identify your life goals and prepare you for what you are doing now and will do in the future, consider supporting Michigan 4-H Youth Development by giving a gift to the Michigan 4-H Foundation. You can become a member of the Michigan 4-H Foundation online using Visa or Mastercard to support your county 4-H program or honor a particularly special volunteer.

Visit the National 4-H Council to learn about 4-H alumni across the United States.

Nominate a 4-H Alumnus

Michigan 4-H wants to identify and recognize former 4-H'ers who have really made a difference in their communities and/or in their professions at the local, state, or national level. If you or a fellow former 4-H'er you know meets these qualifications, nominate yourself or your fellow alumni using the 4-H Emerald Clover Society nomination form. This form is available for downloading and viewing in "pdf" (Portable Document Format) file format. You will need the free Adobe Acrobat Reader to view or print these files. If you don't already have the Acrobat Reader, you can click on the "Get Acrobat Reader" button and download it from the Adobe site at
http://www.adobe.com/products/acrobat/readstep.html.
