Branch County Leader Receives North Central Region Honor

Cathy Marvin has been selected as the Lifetime Volunteer for the North Central region for the 2007 National 4-H Salute to Excellence Awards program. Cathy is a 28-year 4-H club leader who created the Branch County 4-H Scholarship Program. Though this program, Cathy has helped many youth attend college.

Cathy was chosen through a rigorous selection process by a national committee who examined Cathy’s nomination material against an established set of criteria. In making their decision, the selection committee applied a point system to choose the nominees that best reflected the selection criteria.

As a regional recipient Cathy will receive:
• A $400 travel scholarship to participate in the North Central Volunteer Leader Forum
• $200 to donate to a local
4-H program of her choice. This will be presented along with a recognition plaque to Cathy at the North Central Volunteer Leader Forum
