Grand Haven club sews for community

Grand Haven Hobbiers 4-H Club
Grand Haven Hobbiers 4-H Club members with their service projects.

By Lisa Vander Veen

Members of the Grand Haven Hobbiers 4-H Club took their sewing seriously as they constructed 23 pillow cases which were donated to the Ottawa and Muskegon County Child and Family Service of West Michigan. This community service project was the result of attending the Community Service session at the fall Clothing & Textiles Workshop at Kettunen Center, where an additional 15 pillow cases were made by attendees. The October 15-16, 2005 textiles workshop at Kettunen Center will discuss making the pillow cases as a club’s “Make A Difference Day” project (October 22 is Make a Difference Day). For more information, contact Joanne Schultink at (269) 781-0784.
