Lela Vandenberg
 
Lela Vandenberg is Community Leadership Development Specialist for Michigan State University Extension.  She co-coordinates LeadNet, a network of Extension educators devoted to learning about, practicing, and helping others practice community-centered, issue-focused shared leadership for collective action. 

Lela's areas of expertise include facilitation of group process and community leadership development. She teaches workshops on leadership, facilitation, focus groups, team building, consensus decision-making, and the Myers-Briggs Type Inventory and its applications to group work.  Her current interests center around curriculum development for facilitative leadership, the dynamics of conflict resolution, and programming for community leadership.  Lela has a doctorate in Adult and Continuing Education, masters degrees in Nonformal Education and Linguistics, and has worked and taught internationally in Rwanda (Africa) and Haiti.  She is a member of the International Association of Facilitators, the International Leadership Association,  the Association of Leadership Educators, and Epsilon Sigma Phi.
