Community Assessment Team |
Bringing
Knowledge to Life!!
Since 1996, MSU Extension's Community Assessment Team has used a fast-paced visit to communities to help them develop and assess plans for future development. The team is composed of a multi-diciplinary set of individuals who come together with a cross-section of concerned community members to gather and process information. The Community Assessment Team brainstorms about alternative approaches to the community's future development. The team produces a set of recommendations that the community then prioritizes for action.
Initial steps for a Community Assessment Team visit:
1. Download the brochure and share it with other
members of your community to determine an initial level of interest.
2. Read the Community
Manual.*
3. Obtain the application from Judy von Bernuth, tel. 517-355-0108, e-mail vonbern1@msu.edu.
4. Organize brief presentations to community groups about the process. (A PowerPoint
file describing the process is available.)
5. Complete the application.
*The Community Manual is currently available in Microsoft Word format only.
